The twelveth edition of Avarik Saga updates. Read below for our full game development insights on what we’ve worked on and will provide.
The journey through these initial months has been nothing short of remarkable, with each step forward marking significant progress and achievements that continue to shape the future of our game. The excitement and support from our community, especially within the dynamic web3 gaming landscape, fuel our dedication and drive to surpass expectations. Here’s a glimpse into the artistry and innovation that have defined our recent endeavors:
Art Team: The Game of Detail
Our art team has been at the forefront of transforming Avarik Saga into a visually stunning universe that captivates and immerses players. March was dedicated to meticulously refining every visual aspect of our game. From character animations and VFX to live2D illustrations and detailed splash art, our artists have been laser-focused on infusing each asset with life and vibrancy. This dedication to detail not only enhances the player experience but also solidifies Avarik Saga's identity within the anime/waifu genre.
In parallel, we've initiated an ambitious project to upgrade NFT assets, ensuring that they reflect our game's evolving quality and artistry. This effort is crucial in meeting and exceeding our community's expectations, which has been integral to our journey.
Product Update:
System Updates and Backend Integration:
Link Party Preset Page with new Campaign Mission Panel.
Update the gacha API (record player’s gacha pull) and the gacha flow according to the designers.
Implement tutorial steps based on unit coordinates and extend the tutorial system to support static image pop-ups.
Connect to the backend (forsaken rank up, ability level up, forsaken level up).
Store the mission objective star and the party preset.
Create API to store the gameplay progression to the backend and update API for unique weapon level-up.
Extend the custom team preset to allow GD to set the desired unit to a specific level, even if the player doesn’t have the unit.
Create working documentation and update all Pop-Up and API documentation.
User Experience and Interface Enhancements:
Tutorial mission persistence and unlock the chapter after clearing all missions from the previous chapter.
Implement mission selection page, combat information page, and ‘Team slot full’ message.
Extend the mission data to support the recommended level and implement the Drop rate pop-up on the front page.
Update Forsaken Page - Ability Level Up, Star Up Tab, and implement Campaign Chapter Selection Page.
Link the gacha pull with the backend API, and connect the carousel banner from the main menu to the correct gacha banner page.
Add a loading screen upon leveling up/tiering up, a Level Up Popup, and UI for armor and attack types (mission details & forsaken list, Forsaken page, Gacha result).
Implement the hi-fi design of the selection forsaken page and implement the forsaken list hi-fi in the forsaken details page.
Update the character image to the correct cut asset, update the unit icons within every menu, and replace the finalized icons on the main menu icon.
Gameplay and Tutorial Enhancements:
Engaged Target States Update, Process Acquisition Target Result, Create new target acquisition step.
Disable the abyssal breach from all levels; store and calculate the player’s game progression in Unity.
Update the tutorial sequence to highlight the relationship story, update the tutorial sequence to highlight the tutorial AI chat, set up the main menu for the tutorial mission flow, and update the gacha tutorial sequence.
Add a global status effect VFX system, Adjust the ability voice line text to lower, and Hide the ability description when the ultimate is activated.
Change text ‘Character’ to ‘Forsaken’, Push all updates to the graphical buff branch, Sync with the VN team regarding the name input pop-up, and Hide the tutorial mission.
First Townhall of 2024:
This month, we marked a significant milestone in our journey with the Avarik community by hosting our much-anticipated town hall—the first in over a year. This event provided us with a unique opportunity to directly engage with our community, offering a comprehensive update on the progress and vision of Avarik Saga. We delved into the details of our development journey, unveiling the strides we’ve made with Red Covenant (Flagship Game for Avarik), our innovative AI integration, and our strategic direction for tokenomics and NFT upgrades. Furthermore, we shed light on our exciting partnership with chains and outlined our plans for upcoming collaborations and the Token Generation Event in Q2'2024.
